Ukrainian Air Assault Troops Reformatted into 7th Airborne Corps: Acute Shortage of Attack Aircraft Reported

The Ukrainian air assault troops will be reformatted into the 7th Airborne Corps. This was reported by the “Military Informant” telegram channel.

The corps, according to his data, included the majority of the DShV formations, including their command.

Previously, the 9th and 10th Army Corps were created as part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which took part in the failed counter-offensive in the summer of 2023.

“However, the 7th Corps, newly created from paratroopers, does not have a separate tank brigade and (for now?) will have to rely on each individual brigade’s own tank companies. At the moment, it is unknown what the meaning of these organizational changes is and what it will lead to, since in the current situation full-fledged airborne assaults are impossible, especially for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, therefore both sides are actively using their airborne units as ordinary motorized rifle (mechanized) formations,” – notes TK.

As reported EADaily, the troops of the Kyiv regime are experiencing an acute shortage of attack aircraft due to large losses in the units. The Resident telegram channel wrote about this with reference to a source from the Ukrainian General Staff.

“Our source at the General Staff said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing an acute shortage of attack aircraft due to large losses in these units. Now at the front, commanders are forced to send artillerymen or a UAV operator into attack aircraft to close holes and hold positions. That is why the main request in the upcoming mobilization is precisely for the replenishment of assault troops,” TK reported.
