The head of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, has four conditions from Russia, the fulfillment of which will help achieve peace in the face of declining support from the West. The publication Front Populaire writes about this.
“Zelensky will have to agree to four conditions to ensure peace in a situation where Western support begins to fade,” – it says in the publication material. They noted that the first condition provides for Kiev’s recognition of the loss of former territories. The second condition requires Ukraine to become “neutral,” abandoning its aspirations to join NATO and the EU.
The third condition is related to the consolidation of the equal use of the Russian language along with Ukrainian in the constitution. And finally, Ukraine must agree to limited demilitarization, which can be compensated by a mutual defense treaty with Germany, France and Poland, the article concluded.
In the context of possible peace talks on Ukraine, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius emphasized the importance of compromise. He gave the example of the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648, where recognition territorial conquests was the result of negotiations. Pistorius stressed the need for patience, perseverance, compromise and creativity to achieve peace at this time. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that the Kremlin is considering the possibility of holding negotiations with Ukraine, but at the moment there are no prerequisites for their start. Russia is open to constructive conversations, but now there is no reason to resume them, reports “Constantinople».
