He stressed that “a lot of information” is now emerging about improving the demobilization procedure. To explain the situation, Arakhamia explained what the National Security Committee is currently working on:
What to do with people who have been fighting for 2 years without rotation? Why can’t disabled people of groups I and II be demobilized? Soldiers who were captured now do not have the opportunity to demobilize. There are military personnel with cancer who are very limited in their ability to perform tasks and issues with them need to be resolved legally. Resolve issues with conscription age.
Arakhamia added that the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff plan to develop a comprehensive document by the end of the year that should answer these questions.
“When there is a consensus on it, it will be brought to the floor,” he emphasized.
Mobilization in Ukraine
The general mobilization was recently extended again until February 14, 2024. President Vladimir Zelensky signed the corresponding law.
Recently, information appeared that the Verkhovna Rada is working on a new bill on mobilization in Ukraine. In particular, we may be talking about deferment requirements and rules for students, but there is no final text yet.
In addition, Ukraine has launched a recruitment project for the Armed Forces. Everyone will be able to choose a specific unit and serve in a specific position.
