“Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense to Revamp Military Medical Commissions for Suitability Assessment”

The Ministry of Defense plans to introduce changes in the work of military medical commissions.

Martial law continues in Ukraine and general mobilization. The Ministry of Defense announced innovations in the work of military medical commissions, which make a conclusion on the suitability for military service.

How told Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar, during the meeting, the volunteers voiced specific cases of dishonest performance of duties in the field of medical care for military personnel. Therefore, the minister instructed to verify this information and take appropriate action.

According to her, the network of military medical commissions is currently being scaled up, their number has been expanded due to the creation in civilian hospitals.

What is being done now:

  • scaling the VVK network, expanding the number of military medical commissions through their creation in civilian hospitals;
  • pilot projects on electronic document management have been launched;
  • developed such a digital product as an electronic queue;

“We are talking about the five cities of Ukraine in which the military medical commissions are the busiest – Kharkiv, Lviv, Kiev, Vinnitsa and Odessa. In the near future, we plan to transfer all military medical commissions to work with electronic queues,” Malyar explained.

  • two bills were developed and voted in the first reading, designed to simplify the procedure for passing the VVK.
