– If the aggressor wins now, it will be the worst case scenario for all of humanity, this will mean that global deterrence does not work, this will mean that anyone with power, strength and sufficient financial capacity can do whatever they want in the world, says Zelenska.

Several countries have called for a peaceful end to that war, despite the fact that there has been no real interest from either side to negotiate an agreement.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s 10-point peace plan, which would restore Ukraine’s territorial integrity and ensure Russia is held accountable for the war, has been rejected by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russia has also indicated that peace talks cannot be reached while the US and its allies continue to impose strong sanctions against Russia.

– Don’t get tired

The next round of peace talks is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia this weekend, and more than 30 countries have been invited to participate. Although Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told Russian state media that Moscow will “follow” the meeting, it is not expected that Russia will participate.

Russia is not a party to the negotiations, so without their involvement as an aggressor nation, this already has serious disadvantages,” said Javed Ali, former senior director of counterterrorism at the National Security Council.

Towards the end of the interview, which is scheduled to be released in full on Monday, Ukraine’s first lady spoke directly to the country’s allies:

– Ukrainians pay for this with the lives of their countrymen, the rest of the world only pays with their resources, please don’t get tired, because we as Ukrainians don’t have the right to get tired. Ukraine is not only defending its interests, not only its existence, we are trying to maintain the entire democratic balance in the world, concludes Zelenska.
