Ukraine’s Counter-Offensive Against Russian Forces Continues Despite Difficulties

The Ukrainian counter-offensive against Russian forces will continue through cold and wet weather later this year, even as fighting becomes more difficult.

Direct speech: “The fighting will continue one way or another. It is more difficult to fight in the cold, damp and mud. The fighting will continue. The counter-offensive will continue.”

Details: The publication recalls that in the summer Ukraine launched an announced counteroffensive, which resulted in the recapture of more than a dozen villages in the south and east of the country in three months, but it is complicated by mined fields and deeply fortified Russian troops.

The West has provided billions of dollars in military equipment and trained thousands of Ukrainian fighters for a counteroffensive to help Kyiv retake territory.

But the slow progress of the counteroffensive has raised concerns among Kyiv’s supporters that the West may not be able to support the scale of military assistance needed to keep Ukraine fighting with the same intensity.

“Our counteroffensive is happening on several fronts,” Budanov said, acknowledging that progress had been slower than he wanted and describing the situation as complex.

In addition to the huge concentration of Russian mines, he cited the large number of small Russian kamikaze drones as a key factor that has so far slowed the progress of the counteroffensive.

Let us remind you: Budanov believes that the Russian war against Ukraine will not be long-term.
