The assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared footage of the incident on the Telegram website. The video shows the tank sliding down the slope and appearing to get stuck halfway.
The next shot shows a tank being hit by a drone, causing it to explode.
“Another enemy tank – done,” the post said.
The successful strike was carried out using FPV (first-person-view) drones, the entry states.
These are cheap amateur drones that Ukraine is adapting to destroy Russian equipment, according to “Insider”.
An amateur drone can be armed with home-made warheads and seriously damage expensive tanks and weapon systems worth millions of dollars, at a much greater cost to the enemy.
“It’s all about cost,” said Samuel Bendet, a Russian defense and technology expert. “They are extremely cost-effective.”
The cost of one FPV drone is usually around $400 to $500, which is about the cost of a new Playstation.
