Ukraine’s ambassador to Norway finished

It appears in a message posted on the official website to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj on Saturday afternoon.

The message does not state what the cause is.

– Today I signed decrees on the dismissal of several of Ukraine’s ambassadors. This rotation is a normal part of diplomacy. New ambassadors from Ukraine will be appointed to the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Norway and India, Zelenskyj said in a video speech on Saturday night.

– The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing new candidates now, he continues.

NRK has been in contact with Jatsiuk, who says he can not comment on the case.

– I am not allowed to comment on this. It is a decision made by the president, he says to the state channel.

To TV 2 says the ambassador that the departure is routine.

– My period as the Ukrainian ambassador to Norway is over. Normally such a period would be four years, but I have been fortunate to be allowed to be so for six years. Now I will have time to complete my ongoing projects, and then in a few months I will be completely finished, Jatsiuk says to TV 2.

This is also confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

– We were familiar with this. This is about natural rotation. The ambassador has been in Oslo for almost six years, longer than usual. We would like to thank him for a good collaboration in a very demanding time for Ukraine, says acting head of communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ane Haavardsdatter Lunde, to NRK.

Ambassadors to a number of other countries have also been removed from their posts. Including Germany, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Dagbladet has been in contact with the Ukrainian embassy in Oslo, but has not yet received a response.
