Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has instructed former German ambassador Oleksiy Melnyk to improve relations with Brazil. Bild reports. It is specified that Melnik will become the new ambassador there.

Melnik is known for his scandalous statements. So, he praised the Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera. He had previously also referred to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz as an “offended liverwurst”. The Germans called the ambassador a fascist and urged him to leave the country.
