Ukraine war: – Ukraine: – Russian forces withdraw

A full month of war has left its mark on Europe’s second largest country, and attacks continue to hail from several Ukrainian cities on Thursday and Friday.

Nevertheless, Ukrainian authorities claim that some Russian departments have now begun to withdraw after suffering heavy losses, according to NTB.

– As the Russian invasion enters its second month, the front line between the parties is almost frozen, says Oleksyj Arestovytsj, who is one of President Volodymyr Zelenskyj’s advisers.

British also comes with the same information.

“Ukrainian counterattacks and falling Russian forces have given Ukraine the opportunity to occupy cities and defensive positions 35 kilometers east of Kyiv,” they wrote on Twitter.

The Russian General Staff is said to have observed several Russian forces withdrawing across the border, claiming that Russia has lost more than half of its personnel.

This is despite the fact that the siege against Kharkiv and Sumy continues, and the General Staff says it may seem that the city of Izium may be the next target for the Russian forces.

The information is not documented by independent sources.

During the night there have also been several attacks on the outskirts of the city of Dnipro, against parts of the Dnipropetrovsk region and artillery attacks on Slavutich, where employees of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant live.

– Military camp hit by rockets

A Ukrainian military camp on the outskirts of the Dnipro was attacked on Friday night. Two Russian rockets are said to have been fired at the facility and caused two fires.

Several buildings are said to have been destroyed in the camp, but the extent of the damage is still unclear. The governor of the Dnipro region, Valentin Reznitshenko, says there is talk of serious destruction, according to Reuters.

Dnipro is the fourth largest city in Ukraine, and has not previously been one of Russia’s main targets during the invasion. The airport, according to Ukrainian authorities, was destroyed after a heavy bombing on March 15.

Artillery attacks worry

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expresses concern that the city where employees of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant live was subjected to artillery attacks.

According to the Atomic Energy Agency, they were informed on Thursday about the attack by the Russian forces against checkpoints in Slavutich, where several of the employees at the nuclear power plant live.

The attack takes place only days after the employees at Chernobyl were relieved, and thus able to travel home to their homes in the city, says IAEA chief Rafael Grossi.

A technical staff of around one hundred people continues to work at the power plant after Russian forces took control on 24 February.
