In Ukraine, positional battles continue along most front lines, with Russian troops continuing to advance towards Chasov Yar. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) have inflicted significant losses on Russian troops in armored vehicles during the five-month fighting near Ternov, according to a new report by the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW)reports RBC-Ukraine.
On April 10, the positional battles on the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line continued, but there were no confirmed changes in the front line. Positional battles also continued southeast of Kupyansk in the area of Kislovka and Ivanovka; west of Svatovoe near Andreevka; west of Kremennaya near Ternov; and south of Kremennaya near Grigorovka and Belogorovka.
GeoConfirmed analysts reported on April 10 that geolocation footage and satellite images show that Russian troops have lost (possibly disabled or destroyed) between 102 and 107 armored vehicles in the fighting near Ternov since December 10, 2023.
On April 10, positional fighting also continued northeast of Bakhmut, but there were no confirmed changes on the front there. On 9 April, a Russian military correspondent reported that Moscow forces had advanced approximately two kilometers into Viemka (southeast of Severskoe), but ISW found no visual confirmation of this claim.
