Trump revealed this on Friday (24/2/2023) during an interview with Glenn Beck. The former president also suggested that Kiev may have been the real culprit behind Russia’s destruction of Nord Stream gas pipeline last October.
Trump also commented on a recent report by veteran US journalist Seymour Hersh that suggested the pipeline was targeted by Washington in a covert operation directly ordered by President Joe Biden.
Trump has not ruled out US involvement but dismissed accusations that Russia destroyed the gas pipeline itself.
“Well, it could be us, and it could be Ukraine, and it could be a third party country that wants to look into trouble. The only group that isn’t that is Russia… It’s a major source of massive revenue for them. They don’t exaggerate it for make a point. That’s one thing I can tell you for sure,” Trump said.

He added, “everything is blamed on Russia” by “sick” people.
According to Trump, the US may have “worked together” with Ukraine to target the pipeline as Kiev has asserted “total dominance” over Washington.
“We’ve given them maybe $150 billion, and Europe has given them almost nothing,” Trump said.
