Ukraine to charge more for Druzhba — EADaily, Dec 26, 2022 – Politics news, Russia News

From the new year, the price of oil transportation through the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba pipeline to Europe will increase. Ukrtransnafta explained its desire to raise tariffs by the fact that intense hostilities and damage to energy facilities led to an increase in maintenance costs.

From 1 January 2023, the tariff for transporting oil via the Druzhba pipeline through Ukraine to the border with Hungary and Slovakia will increase to 13.6 euros per ton. This is reported by Transneft in materials on tariffs for the transportation of raw materials through Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The growth will be 18% and will be the second since the beginning of the NWO in Ukraine. In April, the fare increased even more, by 34%, from 8.6 euros to 11.5 euros.

In November, Bloomberg reported plans to change the rate. The Ukrainian company explained the need for growth with additional costs due to intense hostilities and damage to energy infrastructure. Ukrtransnafta pointed to a shortage of spare parts and an increase in costs to ensure employee safety.

In November, the transit of oil through Ukraine stopped for a day. Ukrtransnafta explained the emergency as a voltage drop due to damage to a substation that supplies the compressor stations.

“Yes, we received such a letter (from Ukrtransnafta), now we are studying it. We are preparing an appropriate appeal to government agencies,” the official representative of Transneft confirmed to TASS. Igor Demin.

As reported EADaily, the tariff increase will increase Ukraine’s annual revenue from the transportation of Russian oil by 25 million euros. Taking into account the April increase – by 60 million euros. On average, the southern branch of the Druzhba serves 12-13 million tons annually. And this course should remain stable against the backdrop of other EU restrictions. On December 5, the European Union banned the import of oil from Russia and on February 5, an embargo on petroleum products will come into force. However, the penalties do not apply to pipeline supplies. At the same time, only the southern branch will continue to operate at full capacity – in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
