The minesweepers are reported to be 53 meters long and reach speeds of up to 13 knots (about 24 kilometers per hour). The ships are armed with a 30mm Mark44 Bushmaster II cannon, three six-barreled 7.62mm Minigun machine guns and a pair of general-purpose machine guns.

Also, the ships are equipped with radars and mine search systems, including a powerful sonar. However, ships can still be upgraded with more modern mine detection systems.

Earlier in June, two NATO warships – the British Navy Defender and the URO frigate Everton of the Netherlands Navy – entered the Black Sea.
