Three people were killed and three others were wounded in the shelling by Russian forces of the city of Kostiantynivka, in eastern Ukraine, Vadim Filaskin, the governor of the Donetsk region, said today.
Three men aged between 24 and 69 were killed and a multi-storey building housing administrative services and a shop was damaged, Filashkin said in a Telegram post.
Three other people were slightly injured and received medical attention, he added.
Many of Kostiantynifka’s approximately 70,000 residents have fled the city as the war front has closed in. The city has been repeatedly hit by rockets, bombs and Russian artillery.
In August, the authorities had announced the forced removal of families with children due to the danger from the Russian advance.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its forces captured Kalinove, a village in the Donetsk region.
