The latest projectile for the Grad multiple launch rocket system was tested at the Shirokiy Lan range in the Nikolaev region. The 122 mm rocket is named Typhoon-1.

It is reported that the launches took place using a standard BM-21 combat vehicle. To receive real-time telemetry information from the missiles during their flight, a ground mobile measuring station developed by the Yuzhnoye design bureau was used.
The production of the Typhoon-1 missile took place in close cooperation of this bureau with the Pavlograd Mechanical Plant and other enterprises.
