Ukraine said today it was halting the evacuation of civilians from war-torn regions as intelligence reported that invading Russian troops were planning attacks on humanitarian routes.

“Our intelligence has reported possible provocations by the occupiers along the routes of the humanitarian corridors. Therefore, for reasons of public security, we are not opening humanitarian corridors today,” Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk said in a statement on social media.
