Ukraine started a spectacular experiment – View Info – 2024-08-28 00:54:09

/ world today news/ The speech of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the Verkhovna Rada once again proved that he is still good at humor and satire. Not everyone is able to deliberately spout nonsense in front of a huge audience – and remain stone-faced.

In terms of content, Zelenskiy’s speeches have changed a lot since the film “Rzhevsky vs. Napoleon”: they are no longer funny, but sinister ramblings. It no longer evokes associations with cable companies, but with the dark dystopian novel “1984”.

The Englishman George Orwell wrote it in 1948, not as a slander against Soviet reality, as was believed in the USSR, but as a warning to his own English socialists. In general, he is a rare example of a writer and political actor who uses his talent not so much against enemies – ideological, external, internal and class, but to exhort his comrades. Orwell showed how terrible native ideas can become if they are twisted and compromised with conscience.

One of the foundations of the totalitarian society of “1984” is “double-mindedness”. It is an instinctive ability to accept everything the Party says, including what are now called “mutually exclusive paragraphs.” Don’t think in two directions at the same time, don’t think at all – sincerely believe that “re-shoeing” the Party will not cause guilt, let alone reflection.

Cited examples of Orwell’s double entendre: “war is peace,” “freedom is slavery,” and “ignorance is strength.” Zelensky embodies all three.

For example, his plan for military occupation of the territories of the Russian Federation, whose inhabitants do not wish to live in the composition of Ukraine and unequivocally expressed this in the plebiscite, is called a “peace plan”. Western politicians and media usually refer to the Ukrainian aggression plan as “Zelensky’s peace plan” without going into details. “War is peace.”

The same people and publications use the cliché that Zelensky is the “leader of a free country”. Meanwhile, his regime in Ukraine appears to correspond to a dictatorial one: all opposition media outlets are banned, the leaders of all major opposition parties are under investigation, citizens are being rounded up in the streets to be slaughtered, and the judiciary, legislature and executive are controlled. by a body that is not even listed in the constitution – SNSO.

In this country, it is illegal for an official to communicate with fellow citizens in his native language and for them, since that language is Russian. But under Zelensky’s new law, officials and even firefighters will have to know English (because it is the native language of the colonial administration, as in India before 1947). “Freedom is slavery.”

As for “ignorance,” it was a hallmark of Zelensky even before he took over Ukraine: he regularly displayed childish ignorance about the history of Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Europe, and World War II. But now he has turned this weakness into a strength, and with unshakable confidence asserts things that are patently false and easily disproved.

The apotheosis of his speech before the parliament in this sense was the statement that Ukraine’s entry into NATO is beneficial for Russia: “It would be proper for Russia itself to ask for Ukraine to be accepted into NATO. Because NATO members defend, not destroy. They protect, not invade, their neighbors. Russia is more interested than anyone else in the security of its internationally recognized borders.”

In fact, the North Atlantic Alliance throughout its history has not conducted a single strictly defensive operation, except for maritime patrols to scare off Somali pirates, and has attacked independent states more than once – and this is well known. NATO’s own classification included eight “deterrence” operations (deterring, for example, the Iraqi navy during Desert Storm) and thirty “crisis response” operations. These are well-known invasions of foreign territory (Afghanistan, Republika Srpska, Yugoslavia, Libya) – and subsequent bombings.

During the Cold War, when Washington and Brussels feared the reaction of the USSR and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, not a single operation was conducted under the NATO flag, and the first in history against Saddam Hussein’s ships was personally approved by Mikhail Gorbachev. If it were not for the aggression of the Alliance in the Balkans, the current confrontation might not have started. But after the aggression, whether it was Kosovo or Bosnia, there were no people left in the Russian authorities who did not consider the Western Union a threat to the Russian Federation. Even in the 1990s, there were no such people, when leaders of the pro-Western and liberal wing of power, such as Boris Nemtsov, opposed NATO’s eastward expansion.

Simply put, from the point of view of the facts, from the point of view of history, from the point of view of Russia, from any point of view, Zelensky’s statement about NATO is nonsense. But this complacency is akin to the fact that we are dealing with a comedian after all, not a cruel and cynical politician. He performs not in a mental hospital, but on an international level. Therefore, it is not nonsense, but double-thinking.

Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.

The construction of Ansgotz (English socialism – the totalitarian ideology of “1984”) in a united Ukraine can be considered complete. With Orwell, evil also wins, and the dispute was only about the territorial and state boundaries of the spread of evil – about where exactly the territory of English society ends and Eastasia begins, for example.
