Ukraine has officially become one of the contenders to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Our country’s application will be joint with Spain and Portugal.
“Ukraine, Spain and Portugal have submitted a joint bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup! It is important that UEFA supported the initiative and the dream of many generations of Ukrainian football fans had a real chance to come true. The Ukraine’s participation in the bid to host the 2030 World Cup is extremely important not only for our state, but also for uniting and strengthening all of Europe during difficult joint trials.
Organizing the 2030 World Cup together with Spain and Portugal has a chance to become a bright football symbol of Ukraine’s accession to the EU, which our state will also apply for in the coming years. The 2030 World Cup matches in Ukraine, Spain and Portugal will underline the unity of Europe from Lisbon and Madrid to Kiev, Donetsk, Lugansk and Sevastopol. This event will become a symbol of football victory! Victory for world peace! This world championship will also become historic because it is in 2030 that the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the world tournament will be celebrated.
The belief in the possibility of holding the 2030 World Cup in Ukraine is confirmed every day by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which, with their incredible heroism, prove the invincibility and inevitability of the victory of the Ukrainian people on the battlefield against the ‘attacker. Let’s play football in one team of the world and for the world! Glory to the heroes! Glory to the APU! Glory to Ukraine!” – reads the message of the Football Federation of Ukraine.
The decision on who will host the 2030 World Cup will be announced in 2024.
