Six people were killed and eight others were injured in a Russian ballistic missile attack on a port in Odessa, the governor of the region, Oleh Kiper, announced.
All the victims are Ukrainian citizens, the governor said in his Telegram post. Four of the injured are in serious condition.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleb said a Panamanian-flagged container ship, the Shui Spirit, was damaged in the attack.
“The insidious enemy is trying to disrupt the work of the Ukrainian grain corridor, killing civilians and destroying infrastructure,” Kiper wrote in his post.
This attack on the port of Hornomorsk is the third in the region in the last four days. A Russian missile struck a Palau-flagged ship in Odessa on Monday, killing one Ukrainian and injuring five foreigners, according to Ukrainian officials.
On Sunday, a Russian missile damaged a St. Kitts and Nevis-flagged ship loaded with corn in the port of Pivdenii.
