Ukraine shot down 45 Russian drones overnight. This was done when the pro-Western country celebrated the New Year.
According to AFP, in the New Year’s attack, Moscow attacked Kiev and cities Ukraine others with Iranian-made missiles and drones.
Thirteen drones have been shot down by the end of 2022 and another 32 in the new year. Ukrainian authorities did not say whether any of the drones hit their targets.
The Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement that its air defenses destroyed 45 “Shahed” drones.
Andriy Nebitov, the police chief of Kiev, posted on Facebook a photo of the wreckage of the crashed drone with the words “Happy New Year” in Russian.
“This is all you need to know about the State of Terror and its military,” he wrote.
