Ukraine Shoots Down 22 Russian Drones and Faces Airstrike on Odessa Port

Ukraine said it shot down 22 drones launched from Russia on the 3rd.

The Ukrainian Air Force said on its messenger app Telegram that it had shot down 22 of 25 Iranian-made Shahed drones launched by Russia early this morning into the southern Odessa region.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Southern Command said at least two people were injured in a three-and-a-half-hour Russian airstrike on the Odessa import-export port and the Danube River.

Odessa has an essential port for Ukrainian grain shipments.

After Russia withdrew from the Black Sea Grain Agreement in July and started to blockade the Black Sea, Ukraine is using the port of Odessa as a bypass for grain exports.

It was not immediately confirmed if the port was hit by the Russian attack on Ukraine.

Russia has so far not commented on the attack.
