Since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, countless experts, leaders and strategists have tried to predict when the war will be over. For example, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that the war may last for years.
Earlier this Friday, Ukraine’s defense chief Oleksiy Reznikov wrote on Facebook that the war could be protracted, but that no one could say how much longer with security.
Now one of his most trusted colleagues and intelligence chief has stated the exact opposite Sky-news.
– Most combat actions will be completed during the year. As a result, we will re-establish our power in Donbass and Crimea, Major General Kyrylo Budanov told Sky News.

Horde with weapons
Budanov has previously met well with his proposals in the context of intelligence. He foresaw when the Russians would invade Ukraine.
– We know everything about the enemy. We know about their plans at about the same time as they are being laid, he says Sky-news.
Budanov, who has a remarkably high degree in the Ukrainian defense, is only 36 years old, and he is not that surprised that the Russians have suffered so far in the war.
– Europe sees Russia as a major threat, Europe is afraid of Russia’s aggression. We have been fighting against them since 2014 and can say with confidence that the much talked about Russian force is a myth.
– It’s a horde of weapons, he says.

The turning point of the war
Budanov predicts that the turning point of the war will come in August and the consequences of the war he is also confident in when he speaks.
– The war will lead to a change of leadership in Russia. Those steps have already been initiated within Russia, says Budanov, who believes that a coup has already begun.
As mentioned earlier, different military leaders of the Ukrainian forces have meant very different things when it comes to the expiration date of the war.
The Minister of Defense, Oleksij Reznikov, announced that Ukraine aims to arm one million soldiers.
