Several Russian sources report new clashes between Ukrainian and Russian ground forces on Russian soil on Wednesday night. The fighting is said to have taken place in the northwest of the border between the two countries – 200 kilometers away from the fighting that is already going on in Kursk county in Russia.
Russian military bloggers first reported the attack, which is said to have targeted the village of Zabrama in Bryansk county. Both Bryansk and Kursk straddle Ukraine.
According to Russian reports, Ukraine entered with about 200 troops and three armored personnel carriers. The attack is said to have been repelled, but even official Russian sources have a history of reporting that attacks were repelled long before they were launched, most recently in Kursk. Russian defense chief Valery Gerasimov, for example, said on August 7 that Russia had halted its advance in Kursk, but reports, photos and videos from the area show that Ukraine is still moving forward.

Also the Russian state controlled news agency RIA mention of the battles in Bryansk. They refer to the Ukrainian forces as a “saboteur and intelligence agency”.
– The enemy was hit by fire. At the moment, the situation has calmed down, claimed the governor of Bryansk Alexander Bogomaz on his Telegram channel.

It is unclear whether the attack is a smaller attack, or part of a larger operation, late Wednesday night. Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the attack.
Kursk and Donetsk
Ukraine has also made progress in the Kursk region in the last 24 hours, according to the map Deep statewhich is considered to be among the most accurate across the battlefield in Ukraine.
