Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile against Ukraine, as reported by international media.
Ukraine’s air force said Thursday that Russia fired an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Astrakhan region during an early morning attack.
Ukraine’s military also said it shot down six Kh-101 cruise missiles fired by Russia during the attack.
Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov said the attack damaged a rehabilitation center, smashing windows and destroying a boiler room.
Ukraine first launched British long-range Storm Shadow missiles on Russian soil. Britain has previously said Ukraine can use Storm Shadow cruise missiles inside Ukrainian territory, but the government has been pressing the United States for permission to allow them to be used to strike targets inside Russia for several months.
Britain’s Storm Shadow missiles are capable of evading anti-aircraft defenses – making them a powerful offensive weapon. The £800,000 missiles use GPS technology to precisely blast targets and can travel through the air at 965km/h.
