Ukraine, Russia | China makes a clear message to NATO about the Ukraine invasion

The two spoke on the phone on Saturday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reports. Wang said that negotiations are needed to resolve the crisis, as well as talks on creating a balanced European security mechanism.

China is aware that the United States and Europe must take into account how NATO’s eastward expansion has a negative impact on Russia’s security.

Blinken said that the world is watching to see which countries “stand up for freedom and sovereignty principles”. He further said that the world is acting in unison in opposition to Russia’s aggression, and in assuring that Moscow pays an expensive price, according to the US Foreign Ministry.

China, unlike the United States, the European Union and its allies, has not imposed sanctions on Russia since the invasion of Ukraine last week.

Beijing says that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected, but that sanctions create new problems and disrupt work against political agreement.
