Ukraine risks being drawn into peace negotiations with Russia against its will, – Lithuanian Foreign Ministry

According to him, Kiev’s lack of missile systems and ammunition, as well as the months-long decision-making process in the European Union, could put Ukraine in a position where it has no choice but to sue for peace.

“This would not be Ukraine’s choice. The Ukraine that we know, and the Ukraine that we will help as long as we breathe, would never choose negotiations with terrorists. But the reality may turn out to be just like this,” the minister said .

Ukraine’s once-broad support is making itself felt as the counteroffensive stalls and the war approaches its third year.

“It looks comical when we see North Korea helping Russia more than the European Union helping Ukraine,” Landsbergis said, referring to supplies from Pyongyang in recent weeks.

Negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation

Ukraine and Russia held several rounds of negotiations at the start of the full-scale invasion. But for now they are on pause. President Vladimir Zelensky and other government officials noted that Ukraine will not return to the negotiating table until Moscow withdraws its troops.

The American television channel NBC News, citing American and European officials, said that the United States and the EU began to not publicly discuss with Ukraine the issue of possible peace negotiations with Russia. They probably involve some concessions on the part of Ukraine.

At the same time, President Vladimir Zelensky denied that the United States and the EU are putting pressure on Ukraine regarding peace negotiations with Russia.
