So, in December 2021, reserves increased by $ 342.5 million, or 1.1%.

In general, from external and internal sources in 2021, Ukraine received $ 11.2 billion, which almost offset the payments for servicing and repayment of the state debt in foreign currency ($ 11.5 billion).

It is noted that for most of the year, the supply of foreign currency on the market exceeded demand due to the favorable global environment for the main Ukrainian export goods. The NBU bought out surplus currency to replenish international reserves.

Note, reserves grow for three months in a row after cutting nearly 3 billion dollars in September.
