Ukraine Receives Fewer Artillery Shells Amid Israel-Hamas War: President Zelensky

Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas, Ukraine has received fewer 115 millimeter artillery shells. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The ammunition is widely used on the front lines in eastern and southern Ukraine.

‘It is not that the United States is saying: we are not giving anything to Ukraine. It’s just that everyone is fighting for themselves,” Zelensky said, referring to the stockpiles of artillery shells. ‘That’s just how it goes. I’m not saying this is positive, but this is life and we have to defend what is ours.’

Zelensky praised US efforts to ramp up production of the ammunition. The Americans are an important ally of Ukraine and Israel, both of which receive military support from Washington. Ukraine and Russia have been at war since February 2022 and are struggling to maintain their ammunition supplies.

According to Zelensky, Russia is stockpiling missiles so that they can be used against Ukraine in the winter. He thinks the Russian army has fewer missiles than before. Thanks to Western aid, Ukraine has been able to strengthen its air defenses. (AP)
