Ukraine receives $2.6 billion worth of military aid from the US

The United States government announced the sending of new military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 2.6 billion dollars.

And the White House announced, on Tuesday, that the United States will send to Ukraine about 500 million dollars in ammunition and equipment immediately, and will also spend more than 2 billion dollars to purchase a group of ammunition, radar and other weapons to Kiev in the future.

“Pursuant to the delegation of authority from US President Joe Biden, we will send $500 million in US weapons and equipment to Ukraine,” the State Department said.

This military assistance package includes more HIMARS ammunition previously provided by the United States, air defense interceptor missiles, and artillery rounds, as well as anti-tank systems, small arms, heavy equipment transport vehicles, and maintenance support essential to strengthening Ukraine’s defenders on the battlefield. .

In addition, the US Department of Defense is announcing a significant package that includes air defense capabilities, as well as artillery ammunition, tanks, mortar systems, missiles, and anti-tank systems under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.

The US government indicated that this new security assistance would allow Ukraine to continue to defend itself against Russia’s war.

Capabilities in this package include:

  • Additional missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
  • Additional ammunition for HIMARS artillery missile systems.
  • 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells.
  • 120 mm mortar shells.
  • Tank ammunition caliber 120 mm and 105 mm.
  • 25 mm ammunition.
  • Tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided (TOW) missiles.
  • About 400 grenade launchers and 200 thousand rounds of ammunition.
  • 11 tactical equipment recovery vehicles.
  • 61 heavy fuel tankers.
  • 10 trucks and 10 trailers for transporting heavy equipment.
  • Testing and diagnostic equipment to support vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Other spare parts and field equipment.
  • 11 tactical vehicles to evacuate equipment.
  • 10 C-UAS mobile missile complexes with laser guidance.
  • Nine anti-drone systems installed on light armored vehicles.
  • 61 gas stations.
  • Three radars to monitor air targets.
  • High precision flight ammunition.
  • About 3,600 small arms and more than 23 million bullets for them.
