Ukraine received the first “IRIS-T SLM” anti-aircraft missile system from Germany.

The delivery of the equipment took place on Tuesday at the Polish-Ukrainian border, the publication reports.

On Monday, the German Ministry of Defense announced the delivery of the equipment to Ukraine.

On Tuesday, however, the photos with the tractor and the IRIS-T SLM equipment, which would have moved along the roads of Germany and Poland in an easterly direction, appeared on social networks.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised Ukraine “IRIS-T SLM” anti-aircraft missile systems in the summer, but delivery was initially scheduled for the end of the year.

However, following the massive Russian missile attack on Ukrainian cities on Monday, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced that deliveries would be accelerated.

“IRIS-T SLM” is a medium range air defense system. Its missiles can hit targets at a distance of 40 kilometers and at an altitude of up to 20 kilometers.
