Jakarta –
Party Ukraine announced that his troops had recaptured Klishchiivka. This city is an important city on the front line near Bakmut.
“Klishchiivka was cleared of Russians,” Oleksandr Syrsky, commander of Ukraine’s military ground forces, said on social media, reported by AFP, Sunday (17/9/2023).
Andriy Yermak, Ukraine’s presidential chief of staff, added: “Klishchiivka is Ukraine. I thank the army for the deoccupation of Ukrainian lands.”
Klishchiivka was home to several hundred people before Moscow invaded last year, being captured by Russian forces in January.
The announcement came after Ukraine’s armed forces said on Friday that the village of Andriivka, also south of the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, had been recaptured. A day later, Russia denied its troops had been driven from frontline villages.
Kyiv began fighting Moscow’s forces in the south and east of the country in June after building up western weapons and recruiting assault battalions.
Bakhmut, a city once home to some 70,000 people, was captured by Russian forces in May after one of the longest and bloodiest battles of the Russian invasion.
However, Ukrainian forces immediately began counterattacking around the northern and southern sides of the city and continued to make progress.
