A fourth Russian general has been killed, Ukrainian officials said. Major General Oleg Mityaev, 47, was killed in the storming of Mariupol along with seven other elite fighters. He was the commander of the 150th Division, The Sun reported.

Oleg Mityaev is the fourth general killed since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also announced the death of another Russian general in a night address, but did not give his name.

Meanwhile, photos were published showing six elite fighters from the Dzerzhinsky Division’s Knights Special Forces Special Forces Center.

The unit is named after the fearsome policeman Felix Jerminski, who was the founder of the Soviet Union’s Secret Police.

Mityaev’s death comes after the murder of another captain – a spy – during a secret operation in Ukraine. This means that Vladimir Putin has already lost a total of 13 commanders since the beginning of the invasion.

The spy of the military intelligence of the GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate), Captain Alexei Glushchak, 31, from Tyumen in Siberia, died in Mariupol.

However, there are still no details of his death due to the strict secrecy of the military operation, a statement said.

Photos of Glushchak’s funeral have surfaced, with him buried with full military honors and an honor guard. On the day of military intelligence, he spoke with his mother and wife in Russia.

He contacted them to congratulate them on International Women’s Day, but later that day they learned of his death.

The general’s death coincides with the first expressions of anger sparked by the number of coffins returning to Russia, although official casualties in Ukraine are a small fraction of the total number of dead, numbering in the thousands.

Moscow did not report the current death toll, citing a small number, including several generals.

Many of the burials currently seen in the media are of soldiers killed in late February.

It took the country two weeks to transport the bodies of the victims to their relatives, as many of them live thousands of miles from the fighting.

Also buried was 24-year-old Corporal Daniel Novogrodski, a senior gunner in an air assault artillery battery. He was awarded the Order of Bravery by decree signed by Vladimir Putin.

Among the victims are Vladimir Plekhanov, 24, an orphan raised by a foster family, Sagendik Kudaibergenov, 22, from Tyumen, who, like the GRU agent, was buried with military honors on March 11.

Among the leaders are Colonel Andrei Zakharov, General Vitaly Gerasimov, Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Safronov and Denis Glebov, Colonel Konstantin Zhizhevsky, Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky, General Magomed Tushaev and many others.

The bloody invasion affected the Russian military. Moscow has asked China for help, sparking fears of World War III.
