At least one person was killed and 15 wounded today in a Russian attack in the city of Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine, local authorities said.
Ukrainian officials denounced the Christmas Eve attack in the city, the birthplace of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the head of the Kriviy Rih military administration, Oleksandr Vilkul, this ballistic missile attack hit a block of flats in the pre-war city of 600,000.
“The monsters directly hit a four-story apartment building with 32 apartments,” he wrote on Telegram.
“While the rest of the world is celebrating Christmas, Ukrainians continue to suffer constant Russian attacks,” Ukrainian human rights commissioner Dmytro Lubinets said on Telegram.
“The number of injured reached 15, of which four are in a serious condition. Among the injured is a child. One person lost his life,” the police said.
Kriviy Rih has been a frequent target of Russian airstrikes since the start of the invasion in 2022.
The city is almost 80 kilometers from the front line.
