President Zelensky last weekend banned 11 pro-Russian opposition parties, two of which were represented in parliament. One of those parties is Opposition Platform – For Life, one of the largest opposition parties in the country. The party has 44 of the 450 seats in parliament and is the second largest party there, right after Zelensky’s party, which has 242 seats. According to the president, the suspension of the pro-Russian parties will last as long as martial law is in effect in Ukraine.
