Ukraine: missiles on Donetsk, 15 dead and 24 people under rubble – Europe

The death toll from an attack by Russian forces against the town of Chasiv Yar, in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, where a Uragan missile hit a residential building, has risen to at least 15. The local emergency services announced this. Five people have been rescued so far.

“During the rescue operations, 15 dead were found at the scene and five people were pulled out of the rubble,” the local branch of the Ukrainian Emergency Service wrote on Facebook. At least 24 people are still trapped under the rubble and rescuers are in contact with three of them. It is unclear whether there are other survivors among the remaining 21.

Initially, the president of the regional military administration Pavel Kirilenko, had announced that six people had lost their lives and another 30, including a nine-year-old child, trapped in these hours under the rubble of the building.
