The Polish companies CCC and LPP have decided to close their stores in Ukraine. The operating activities in this country were also suspended by Inter Cars, a company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Information on the reduction of operations in Ukraine was also provided by leading global concerns, including ArcelorMittal, Coca-Cola and Carlsberg.

Russia attacked Ukraine after published by Vladimir Putin an order to conduct a special military operation in Donbas. Attacks on military infrastructure are taking place in many Ukrainian regions and cities. The Ukrainian army reported that several Russian planes, helicopters, tanks and combat vehicles were destroyed in the east of the country.

CCC and LPP closed stores in Ukraine

The CCC Group, which has 18 franchised brick-and-mortar stores in Ukraine, closed stores, and shipments of goods have been suspended. – Due to the introduction of martial law, all stationary units were closed and transports suspended. Our franchise partner asked employees to stay at home. The offices, however, operate remotely. We follow the situation closely and react on an ongoing basis. We are concerned about the safety of the inhabitants – we hope to end the conflict in the region as soon as possible – said Daria Sulgostowska, CCC spokeswoman.

As she informed, 18 out of approximately 1,000 stationary stores of the CCC group are located in Ukraine. The company is present on this market in the franchise model. – Today, Ukraine and Russia account for about 3 percent of CCC’s business, and about 1 percent of the entire group’s business, said the spokeswoman.

The Polish clothing company LPP moved the administration from its office in Kiev to Lviv. The company also closed its stores in Ukraine. LPP owns brands such as Cropp, Sinsay, House, Mohito, Reserved. – Trade in Ukraine is closed. Security is the priority, so the administration of our Kiev office was transported to Lviv. All shipments to Ukraine have been suspended before the border. The situation is developing, we are observing what will happen next – said LPP spokeswoman Monika Wszeborowska.

The countries of Eastern Europe (CIS region), i.e. Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, accounted for 28 percent in 2021. of the total sales of the LPP group, generated almost PLN 4 billion in revenues.

CCC and LPP shares listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange melt in red. In both cases, these are double-digit declines. Around 15.45, the CCC company was losing over 13 percent, and LPP – over 22 percent. About 10 percent Inter Cars is also decreasing.

The Management Board of Inter Cars “monitors the situation on an ongoing basis”

Inter Cars announced in the announcement that its subsidiary Inter Cars Ukraine was discontinuing its operating activities. “The management board of the company monitors the situation in Ukraine on an ongoing basis and, if possible, remains in contact with the staff of Inter Cars Ukraine” – it was written in the release. Inter Cars is an importer and distributor of spare parts for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

The revenues of Inter Cars Ukraine in 2021 amounted to approximately PLN 580.2 million, which was approximately 4.82%. consolidated revenues of Inter Cars in 2021. As stated, it is currently not possible to fully assess the impact of current events on the financial result of the Inter Cars group.

PKO BP prepared “for all scenarios”

The vice-president of PKO BP, Maks Kraczkowski, said that Kredobank had prepared a “specific strategy of alternative actions”. – Depending on how this scale of aggression spreads over the territory of Ukraine, this is also how Kredobank will operate, which has prepared its network for various possibilities – he explained. – Where it is possible, in line with the recommendations of Ukrainian regulators, we will conduct banking activities. We take care of the deposits entrusted to Kredobank, we try to keep work on the loan portfolio – assured Kraczkowski.

The Kredobank branch network includes the headquarters in Lviv and 82 branches throughout Ukraine. Its portfolio includes over 588 thousand. retail clients and 57 thou. companies and enterprises.

Suspension of mining

It is not only Polish companies that are reacting to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. ArcelorMittal has announced the suspension of mining in underground mines in Ukraine. ArcelorMittal is one of the world’s largest steel and mining companies.

The company said on Twitter on Thursday that it would stop production in underground mines in Ukraine and work to slow production down to a technical minimum.

Coal Energy, a company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, also decided to suspend coal mining in its mines in Ukraine due to the aggression of Russian military forces.

The core business of the Coal Energy group is the extraction, enrichment and sale of thermal and coking coal. It supplies it to all the largest electricity and heat production plants and metallurgical plants in Ukraine. It also exports coal from power plants in Turkey, Moldova, Bulgaria and Slovakia.

Coal Energy shares fell during Thursday’s session, after the aggression of Russian troops in Ukraine, more than 32 percent.

Beer production suspended, bottling plant closed

The Danish beer producer Carlsberg, which – as Reuters notes – has almost 30 percent. share in the Ukrainian market, informed that it was suspending production in all three breweries located in Ukraine.

Coca-Cola HBC also decided to close its beverage bottling plant in Ukraine. In connection with Russia’s invasion of this country, the company advised its employees to stay at home. The decision is to be reconsidered in the next days, a spokesman for Coca-Cola HBC told Reuters.

According to the agency, the courier companies UPS and FedEx, as well as the Danish logistics company DSV, also informed about the suspension of transport of shipments to and from Ukraine.
