Zelensky’s 10 points to G20 leaders to end the war
In his speech to the G20 leaders, the Ukrainian president, Volodomyr Zelensky he touched on 10 points that he defined as crucial for Ukraine to achieve peace. In the first place “nuclear safety”, then “food safety”, and in third place “energy safety”. “The fourth challenge is the release of all prisoners and deportees,” he added. On the fifth “the implementation of the UN Charter and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the world order”.
“The sixth challenge – highlighted the Ukrainian president – is the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities”. On the seventh instead the “justice”. “We have already proposed a resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations concerning an international compensation mechanism for the damages caused by the Russian war: we ask you to implement it”. In the eighth point instead “ecocide”, or “the need to immediately protect the environment”.
“The next (the ninth) is the prevention of escalation: a risk that still exists and will remain until our security is adequately guaranteed. Ukraine is not part of any alliance. And Russia was able to start this war precisely because Ukraine remained in the ‘grey zone’ between the Euro-Atlantic world and Russian imperialism”. In last place “the confirmation of the end of the war”: “When all the anti-war measures have been implemented, when security and justice begin to be re-established, a document confirming the end of the war must be signed by the parties”, he concluded Zelensky in his speech.
