Zelensky, “I would like to talk to Xi about the Russian invasion”
Volodymyr Zelensky says he wants to speak directly with Chinese President Xi Jinping about the Russian invasion in the hope that China can “review” its attitude towards Moscow. “I would like to speak to him directly, I only had a conversation with Xi a year ago,” the Ukrainian president said in an interview published today by the South China Morning Post. “Since the invasion began on February 24, we have made an official request for an interview, but we have not had any contact with China even though we believe it will be useful,” Zelensky added. China is a “very powerful state” with a “strong economy” and any economic measures against Moscow would have a big impact, the Ukrainian president added. “I am sure that without the Chinese market available, Russia would feel completely the economic isolation – he explained – this is something that China can do, limit trade with Russia until the war is over”.

Turkey, agreement on cereals leads to ceasefire
The agreement that unlocked the export of cereals from Ukraine through safe corridors in the Black Sea leads to a “complete ceasefire” in the conflict between Moscow and Kiev.
