Ukraine Lacks Sufficient Weapons for Counteroffensive, Says Deputy Head of Office of the President

According to Ihor Zhovkva, deputy head of the OP, more armored vehicles and artillery are needed for an effective operation to liberate the occupied territories.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Igor Zhovkva said that Ukraine does not have enough weapons to carry out a successful counter-offensive. He said this in an interview with the British newspaper The Times, published June 3rd.

Zhovka noted that in order to launch an effective counterattack, it is necessary to use all available means.

“If you want to launch a successful counteroffensive, you need everything you have at your disposal, including artillery, armored vehicles and tanks, so we probably don’t have enough of them,” Zhovkva told British reporters.

Zhovkva also mentioned that Volodymyr Zelensky has visited many countries in the last month in connection with the need to obtain more weapons. These trips were aimed at finding opportunities to strengthen the military potential of Ukraine and purchase new weapons.

Recall that in an interview for the WSJ, published on June 3, Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine was ready for the previously announced counteroffensive. According to him, the army is ready for the operation, but it is not known how long it will take. The President also noted that the counteroffensive could cause great losses for the country.

We also recall that on May 2, Volodymyr Zelensky said that the main result of the counteroffensive would be the complete de-occupation of the country.
