Ukrainian forces are holding their ground in Bakhmut despite constant Russian attacks, according to the country’s defense chief Valery Zaluzhny.
The statement was passed on by US Defense Chief Mark Milley, who spoke to Zaluzhny on the phone.
The situation is very demanding, according to Zaluznyj. He says Russia is carrying out up to 50 attacks a day in Donetsk, where there is also fighting in the towns of Vuhledar and Marjinka.
– Despite constant pressure from the enemy, we still have control over Bakhmut, and we are taking steps to stabilize the front line outside the city, Zaluzhny told Milley.
