Ukraine is exporting its gold, Russia is furious

Ukraine is exporting part of its gold reserves to Poland until the situation in the country normalizes.

This was stated by the Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Serhiy Nikolaychuk in an interview with the Rabbit Hole magazine.

According to the latest public data, Ukraine’s gold is worth about $27 billion.

It is not yet clear how much of the gold reserve has been moved.

The export of the bullion under the noses of the Russians infuriated the Kremlin and caused an avalanche of comments from politicians. Some of them claim that Kyiv has parted with part of its sovereignty. Others believe that this is part of the plan to evacuate power in Kyiv, others suggest that this is a response from the West as a kind of guarantee for the arms sold.

Journalists recall that during the Second World War, a large number of countries in Europe moved their gold reserves to America.

At the beginning of the week, information came out about the gold reserves of Belarus. In May alone, they were down $351 million, a 4.5 percent drop.
