Ukraine initiated a meeting of the Permanent Council and the Forum for Security Cooperation of the OSCE, said on Wednesday, February 16, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in Twitter.

“We continue to demand transparency from Russia, which refused to participate in yesterday’s Vienna Document meeting. Now Ukraine is asking for a joint meeting of the Permanent Council and the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation within 48 hours to develop further steps,” the minister wrote.

The head of the Foreign Ministry called on Russia to take into account the legitimate concerns of the participating countries and use the OSCE tools to defuse tensions caused by military activities near the Ukrainian border.

“Statements about the withdrawal of troops are not enough. We need transparency and facts,” Kuleba added.

Last week Ukraine demanded clarification from Russia within 48 hours on military activities near the borders and in the temporarily occupied Crimea within the framework of the Vienna Document.

After Ukraine received no response, in The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the convening of an urgent meeting with Russia and other countries participating in the Vienna Document.
