More than 210,000 Ukrainian children are said to have been abducted to Russia since the war began in February. Russia speaks of “refugees”.
Ukraine accuses Russia of forcibly deporting more than 210,000 children since the start of its invasion on February 24. They should be made Russian citizens, says Human Rights Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova. The children were among 1.2 million people who were taken away against their will, according to the Ukrainian leadership.
Russia has spoken of “refugees” coming to Russia to escape fighting, particularly from the southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol.
