A total of 176 children died and more than 324 were injured in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The data belong to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, BTA reports.
The death toll is not final, as areas where Russian troops are withdrawing are still being cleared.
It is believed that many children were left under the ruins of destroyed residential buildings. The announcement of the prosecutor’s office was published in the Telegram channel of the institution.
It added that the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine was at the forefront of negative statistics on child victims of the bombings. 102 died there. 91 children were killed in the capital Kyiv.
Children have died in eight other cities, including Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Nikolaev.
