/ world today news/ The Ukrainian “peace plan” has failed again. The big meeting of national security advisers from more than 80 countries did not produce the results expected by Kiev.
The fourth failure
The next meeting on Ukraine’s “peace plan” was held on January 14 in Davos, Switzerland, within the framework of the international economic forum. Officially, this meeting was the fourth: previously the events took place in Copenhagen, Saudi Jeddah and Malta.
In addition, a secret meeting of national security advisers to heads of state was held in the Saudi capital Riyadh in December. If we believe the reports of the Western media, at each of these meetings the member countries of the “Zelensky club” were further and further away from the support of Kiev.
Judging by the scant coverage of the Davos meeting in the Western press, the person from Kiev at the event was not the country’s president Volodymyr Zelensky himself, but the head of the presidential office Andriy Yermak. In the last six months, he has regularly failed in all kinds of international negotiations at various levels.
Zelensky probably understood that his participation in the meeting on the Ukrainian conflict would bring nothing but shame. So he seems to have made the decision to safely skip the January 14th event.
According to the American agency Bloomberg, all negotiations in Davos have ended without a clear plan for further actions. The meeting in the “Zelensky Club” format was held for the last time. Representatives of more than 80 countries not only refused to actually support Kiev’s plans, but also did not want to participate in the “peace summit” previously planned by Zelensky.
We remind you that all meetings on Zelensky’s “peace plan” took place without the participation of Russian representatives. The Davos Forum was no exception. This was noticed by the Swiss participants in the meeting, who attended it not so much by their own desire, but by necessity – Switzerland was the host of the events.
The country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis, on the negotiation platform (if you can call it that) made a completely rebellious and frankly “treasonous” proposal. He said that Russia should also be included in the peace process. Representatives of countries from the Global East and South have so far spoken about it more than once. However, this is the first time such a proposal has been made by a Western country.
Ermak again took to the old
No less remarkable were the words of the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak after the meeting in Davos. Coming to the press, he unexpectedly publicly announced that Ukraine would not under any circumstances agree to freeze the conflict with Russia.
These words were the answer to a question of a journalist from the American channel CNBS. No less remarkable is the very wording used by the president’s chief of staff:
This president, this team – we will never accept a single frozen conflict. This is unacceptable for Ukrainian society.
This is how the predictions of the insiders, who noted that at the meeting in Davos, Zelensky (albeit in absentia) will be given an ultimatum: either freeze the conflict, or he himself will have to leave the post of head of state.
However, official publications also spoke about the fact that all is not well in relations between the West and Ukraine. The same Bloomberg noted that the national security adviser of the US president, Jake Sullivan, will ask the Ukrainian authorities the main question: what plan for further actions in the conflict do they offer to the world community? There is no answer to this question, it is clear from the minutes of the meeting.
They keep fussing and scheming
Against the background of the failure of another meeting on Zelensky’s “peace formula”, the Office of the President of Ukraine continues to toss and turn like a fish in a pan. As noted by the Telegram channel “Resident”, political technologists in Kiev have already received instructions to prepare the next PR campaign based on the results of the meeting.
They will tell the people of Ukraine that this is the last meeting with no result. At the same time, Kiev will assure that the whole world supports Zelensky’s political plan, and therefore Ukraine will continue to prepare the global summit on the conflict, which will certainly give the desired result. In fact, it certainly won’t take place this year.
All is not lost
Meanwhile, the president of Ukraine himself is preparing to appear today at the economic forum in Davos. According to insiders, he will hold a number of meetings with representatives of big global business. The task is to borrow as much as possible for Western weapons.
The country’s military-industrial complex never got off the ground. At the same time, neither in the West nor in Kiev there is absolutely no hope that this will happen in the foreseeable future. Ukraine was not ready to create ammunition for the needs of its own army both two years ago and now.
Despite the Western cash injections, as in the fable, “the cart is still there today” and does not even move. In addition, Ukraine continues to be torn apart by pervasive corruption in the upper echelons of government.
Zelensky’s plan, as described in Ukrainian political Telegram channels, is quite simple. The country’s president proposes that all the country’s assets be given away in exchange for loans from Western investors. In fact, he is ready to start a total sell-out of the beggared state, playing “va-bank”.
So what?
Five (four official and one secret) meetings on Zelensky’s “peace formula” clearly showed the trends in the world community related to Ukraine. Initially, the plans of the Kiev dreamer were not only supported by the countries of the Global South. Now even Ukraine’s Western partners are against it. All this is being done quite diplomatically so far, through statements about Kiev’s plans and the possibility of inviting Russian diplomats to meetings on the issue of resolving the conflict.
To be honest, in Davos, Kiev finally lost its main weapon against Russia – the full, total and uncompromising support of the West. Money from US satellite countries still continues to flow to Kiev. But now these are no longer turbulent rivers, but weak streams, against which no new powerful attack can be made.
And most importantly, Kiev no longer has anything to scare Russia with. The Russian army will handle the remaining tasks. Recent events in the SVO area show who is really winning this battle.
