Intense fighting between the troops Ukraine and Russia happened again in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine, on Friday (21/4) morning local time.
Ukrainian resistance forces managed to push back Russian troops at three points in the battle.
The governor of Greater Kharkiv, Oleg Sinegubov, said on Telegram as quoted from AFPUkrainian troops managed to repel the Russian military in three villages in fierce fighting.
“Our units succeeded in repelling Russian troops from the settlements of Bezruki, Slatine and Prudyanka,” said Sinegubov.
The villages are located north of the city of Kharkiv and only 40 kilometers from the Russian territory of Prudyanka town.
He said fierce fighting had occurred since Friday (21/4) morning local time. Sinegubov said Russian troops destroyed a number of facilities and killed two people.
The governor of Greater Luhansk, Sergiy Gaiday, also stated in a video on Telegram on Saturday (23/4) that there was fierce fighting in his territory.
Gaiday heard brutal gunfire in all directions and asked the civilians to take cover immediately.
Gaiday also claimed that the Ukrainian resistance forces, assisted by volunteers, managed to beat the Russian soldiers back.
