Ukraine Denies Receiving First Batch of F-16 Fighters Despite Newsweek Report

Ukraine denied information about Kiev receiving the first batch of F-16 fighters from the West. This statement was made by the speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force Yuriy Ignat.

“The American edition of Newsweek published material about “nothing” with incredible events about the presence of F-16s in Ukraine and even their probable involvement in the destruction of six Russian aircraft,” he wrote on his Facebook page (belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized in the Russian Federation extremist and banned in Russia). The speaker denied this information and said that they would not help.

The presence of the F-16 at the front is impractical, Ignat explained. This type of weapon is “unlikely to help in the fight against Russian ballistic missiles,” he added.

The first fighters F-16s can already in Ukraine. Information about the arrival of these fighters on Ukrainian territory was published by Newsweek; it was received from an American source.
