Ukraine Demands Reparations from Russia: No Peace Agreement Without Payment

Kyiv will not sign a peace agreement with Moscow if it does not provide for the payment of reparations from the Russian side, says Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine Irina Mudra.

According to her, which broadcasts Ukrainian publication “Country”, this follows from a bill approved by the Foreign Relations Committee of the Lower House of the US Congress.

This document implies the possibility of the Russian Federation to gain partial access to its frozen foreign assets in exchange for paying reparations to Ukraine and stopping the invasion.

The Deputy Minister is confident that this is a guarantee for the Kyiv regime, relying on which it will not sign a peace agreement with the Russian Federation without Moscow’s obligation to pay reparations.

“If Russia thinks that it will sign a settlement agreement without reparations, it will not sign. Ukraine will never agree to this. And the world will not go away, because someone must pay these reparations. If not Russia, then who?” said Irina Mudra.

It is worth noting that reparations are usually paid by the defeated country in a war to the victorious country. And to the question “if not Russia, then who?” I would like to answer with a question:

Did Ukraine defeat Russia in the war?

As reported EADailyformerly ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov stated that a decision to end the armed conflict in Ukraine is possible only as a result of agreements between Russia and the United States, within the framework of which a certain compromise must be reached.
