The victory for Ukraine was predicted even before the tender for Russia’s hostilities against the country.
Ukraine voted 631 points. It was followed by Great Britain with 466 points, which was the leader after the jury vote, Spain – 459, Sweden – 438, and Serbia – 312 points.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the winners and said that Ukraine would do everything in its power to hold a competition in Mariupol next year. Zelensky expressed confidence that Ukraine’s victory in the fight against the enemy is not far off.
Ukraine has been participating in Eurovision since 2003, and this is its third victory.
Great Britain won second place in the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin this year, followed by Spain.
Representatives of Estonia won the 13th place in the final of the competition, and Lithuania – the 14th place.
Representatives of Latvia “Other Boys” did not enter the Eurovision final. It is now known that the group from Latvia, together with the Danes, has divided 13th place in the competition of 17 participants in their semi-finals. “Other Boys” got 55 points. In comparison, Iceland, which was the last – tenth – out of this semi-final, scored 103 points.
The jury awarded “Other Boys” 39 points (12 points from Portugal, 4 points from Moldova, Iceland and Greece, 3 points from Slovenia and Bulgaria, 2 points from Armenia, Switzerland and Lithuania, and 1 point from Austria). 16 points were received in the votes of viewers (10 points from Lithuania, 5 points from Ukraine and 1 point from the Netherlands).
